Add a watermark to protect your photos
A watermark overlays your name, logo, or brand on an image to deter unauthorized use and establish ownership. Text watermarks are fastest — enter your name or brand, choose a font size, set opacity to 30-50%, and position it diagonally across the center. For logo watermarks, upload a transparent PNG logo and tile it across the image.
Keep watermark opacity between 30-50% for visibility without obscuring the image content. Diagonal placement at -30 to -45 degrees covers the most area. For social media, a centered single watermark works best. For stock photography, tiled watermarks at 20-30% opacity provide maximum protection. After adding the watermark, compress the image with the Image Compressor for web use.
Remove a watermark you no longer need
If you previously watermarked images and want to remove the watermark, use the Watermark Remover tool. For images you own, removing the watermark and replacing it with updated text or a new logo is a common workflow when rebranding.
Remove watermarks from photos online
Watermarks protect image ownership, but legitimate use cases include removing watermarks from your own photos, removing stock preview watermarks after purchasing a license, or cleaning up old photos where watermarks were added by a defunct service. The add-watermark tool works in reverse — use the canvas controls to load an image and adjust transparency, position, and opacity of overlay text or graphics.
For bulk watermark operations, load multiple images sequentially and apply the same position and opacity settings to maintain consistency across a portfolio. ToolZone also offers an image background remover and image resizer for related post-processing workflows.
