Which sources can become a GIF here?

Trim the clip before converting
GIF stores a sequence of image frames, so duration, frame rate, and dimensions all multiply the final size. Start with the Video Cutter if you need to isolate the useful moment. Remove pauses at the beginning and end, and keep the result under a few seconds when possible.
A clean loop often works better than a long explanation. If the motion makes sense without sound, GIF may be appropriate. If audio, captions, or smooth motion matter, a short WebM or MP4 is usually smaller and clearer.
Convert a local video to GIF

Keep GIF file size under control
- Shorten the duration before lowering quality.
- Reduce width and height to the actual display size.
- Crop away static or irrelevant areas.
- Avoid gradients, camera noise, and rapid full-frame movement.
- Use video instead when the GIF remains too large.
