Best cases for text removal
Remove Text from Photo is useful for cleaning dates, captions, draft labels, accidental text overlays, scanned notes, and screenshots you are allowed to edit. It works best when the text sits on a simple background such as sky, wall, table, paper, or a blurred area.
Complex backgrounds are harder. Text over faces, hair, fabric, architecture, product packaging, or detailed patterns can leave smears or repeated textures. If the goal is privacy instead of restoration, use Pixelate Image to hide the text clearly rather than trying to recreate the background.
Masking tips
Brush slightly beyond the letter edges so the cleanup area includes anti-aliased pixels and shadows. For blocks of text, rectangle mode is faster and more consistent. For curved or diagonal text, brush mode gives better control. Run smaller passes if the text covers a large part of the image.
